Days 1-3 Tokyo
Explore Tokyo by bicycle, watch sumo wrestlers at training and head out for some hiking, rafting or kayaking in the nearby bamboo forests.
Day 4 Fuji
Hike up the imposing Mt Fuji or along wonderful forest tracks nearby.
Days 5-7 Izu
This peninsula has everything to keep the adrenalin pumping. Explore the coast by sea kayak, cycle mountain roads or hike through the beautiful countryside.
Days 8-9 Kamikochi
From a log cabin base, explore an area filled with jagged mountains, virgin forest and pristine streams. This is one of Japan's most beautiful regions and is perfect for the nature lover.
Days 10-14 Kyoto
Hire a bike and explore the wonderful gardens, temples, shrines and castles scattered across the city. Spend another day swimming and sea-kayaking among uninhabited islands and hike to mysterious Shinto shrines.
Rafting is included, but prior experience of rafting is not necessary. Bikes will be provided in all places.
Although the official climbing season is 1 July to 31 August, it is possible to climb Mt Fuji a couple of months either side of this. In the event that you are not able to climb Mt Fuji due to weather conditions you will participate in hikes of the surrounding area. You will often get the best views of the Mountain outside of the climbing season.
