Walking in Perthshire, Argyll & the Isles

This walking in Perthshire and Argyll holiday gives you the perfect opportunity to explore two very different regions of Scotland. Perthshire, in the heart of Scotland, features high mountains, deep glens and an abundance of trees. Perthshire contrasts nicely with the distinctive Argyll seaboard in the West of the country, which features more rugged hills, steeper and shorter glens along its broken, islanded coast.

The Walking in Perthshire and Argyll itinerary will take you into the long glens of Highland Perthshire, and into the stunning Glen Coe. You’ll visit prehistoric and early history monuments, such as Kilmartin Glen the 16th Century Castle Menzies and the crannogs in Loch Tay in this historic area. Whilst in Argyll you’ll walk on remote islands with an abundance of wildlife, but very few residents, on open hillsides and in ancient Caledonian Forest.

Your stay will be made comfortable in small luxury country house hotels, who have a reputation for care and fantastic local Scottish food – the perfect way to relax after a day on the hills!
