Getting there

If you want to travel to an area that mixes beautiful cycling, quiet roads, quaint villages and breathtaking medieval and prehistoric sites, then you should consider Dordogne. More so, if you want to include side activities such as canoeing and hiking. As it is less touristy, hotels offer better value as do our tours. Getting to Dordogne is easy, but requires that you travel 4 ½ hours from Paris.

• By Road
• By Rail Souillac is a 4 1/2 hour train ride from Paris' Austerlitz station. Alternatively, you can take a train from Paris Montparnasse to Bordeaux (3 1/2 hours) and take a train from Bordeaux to Sarlat (2 1/2 hours; we will transfer you from Sarlat to Souillac).   You have various options to get from CDG to Paris' Austerlitz whether you want to use public transport (Air France bus, or or private taxis. For these various options, you may want to visit:

  - www.ratp.fr (Paris regional train, bus, and metro information).
• By Air We highly suggest flying into Toulouse airport, from here you can catch a train from Toulouse to Souillac, the distance seems further but the travelling time is much less.

  If you have already brought your flight into Bordeaux's airport, there is a shuttle bus that links Bordeaux airport with Bordeaux Railway Station St Jean.
  
  This shuttle runs from Monday to Sunday every 45 minutes and costs 7 euros per person. The journey takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. You can take the bus from the airport, Terminal B. It is named “Jet bus”. Alternatively, you may also take a cab to Bordeaux train station, which will cost you approximately 35 - 40 euros (daytime rate). From here, there are no buses from Bordeaux to Souillac, therefore I would suggest taking a train.
