Hidden Cairngorms - guided walking in Scotland

Make the most of this year’s summer holiday and enjoy the hills of the Highlands in Scotland.

Arrive: Fraoch Lodge the evening before the walking activities start.

Day 1: The Fara circuit provides a fine ridge walk with fantastic views down the full seventeen mile length of Loch Ericht to the remote heights of Ben Alder.

Day 2: We climb to peer into the depths of the highly impressive Ailnack Gorge before reaching the heights of Geal Charn for panoramic views to distant horizons & the high Cairngorm peaks.

Day 4: This is a day off for all of us from breakfast onwards - a chance for you to explore the area on your own. We top the day off with a fantastic meal out at our local restaurant, Anderson's, a few doors up the road.

Day 5: We head deep into what was illicit distilling territory – the Braes of Glenlivet. The Ladder hills provide us with a relatively gentle but wonderfully elevated hill walk amongst broad ridges and steep sweeping heather clad slopes. Panoramic views of the Grampians and back to the high tops of the Cairngorms are our reward in this stronghold for the Hen Harrier, Red Grouse and Golden Plover.
Day 4: Directly opposite the high Cairngorms & overlooking Strathspey, Geal-charn Mor is an excellent viewpoint.

Depart: Fraoch Lodge after breakfast
