Glens, Forests and Lochs - guided walking in Scotland

Arrive: Try to aim for between 5 & 7pm so that you have time to settle in and meet the other members of the group before dinner 7.30 pm.

Day 1: The RSPB's Abernethy Reserve is the largest remnant of the ancient Forest of Caledon - an outstanding example of what once cover vast areas of the Highlands. Our route very gently rises from forest to open moorland for ever changing vistas.

Day 2: Glen Affric, one of the most scenic glens in Scotland and regarded as the "jewel in the crown" of Scottish conservation. Surrounded by high peaks, a walk round the loch is an absolute must.

Day 3: A walk through the exceptional Rothiemurchus Estate is always a winner. The mix of woodland, lochs, moorland, crofts and rivers all in the cradle of the high Cairngorm tops makes for a fantastic variety of views.

Day 4: Little changed, Glen Feshie was a favourite of Queen Victoria. With noble pines and open glades, a grand lodge & steep flanks, it's no wonder its the likely site of the famous painting, 'Monarch of the Glen'.

Day 5: From the crofting fields of Tulloch through pines to beautiful views across Lochs Mallachie & Garten to the mountains beyond - the stronghold of may rare species.

Depart: after breakfast.
