Dive holiday and reef conservation in Belize, Central America
ReefCI are an eco-friendly marine conservation company offering diving holidays with a difference. The ReefCI trips are focused on the environment and the people that help us sustain that; our customers. We are based on a remote idyllic Caribbean island in the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve and are the only group that regularly dive on this pristine reef.
Example itinerary:
Week 1
Weekend - Arrival, relaxation, introduction to Punta Gorda and ReefCI introduction
Monday - Leave Punta Gorda for the island and recreational dives
Day 4,5 & 6 - Fish, Coral and Invertebrates I.D. training dives and fun dives including pre-breakfast and night dives. Lobster & conch survey dives, coral watch
Week 2
Day 1 - Leave Punta Gorda for Caye. After lunch, fun dive.
Day 2 - Pre breakfast dive, practice surveys/fun dives/lobster & conch surveys, coral watch.
Day 3 & 4 - Reef Check surveys and night dives
Day 5 - Morning fun dive and/or snorkelling, return from Caye and relaxation
The above itinerary is to ensure that people get the most out of the trip. However, it is also flexibley and can be adapted according to individual requirements. The survey dives will be dependant upon the individual’s buoyancy control.
Itineraries are subject to the length of the trip. Shorter or longer trips are available to those who require them.
All weekends are free for relaxation or inland trips, trips to the jungle, caves, waterfalls, Mayan ruins or other Cayes i.e. Caye Caulker and the Blue Hole.
