Getting there

Along the spine of the Pyrenees from the Vallee d'Aspe to Andorra. Criss-cross between France and Spain on little-used trails in the highest and most remote parts of the Pyrenees.

• By Road From Northern France ferry ports via Bordeaux or Toulouse. From Spain via Pau.
• By Rail Eurostar to Paris, then train and/or connecting coach to start point.
• By Air Closest airports are Tarbes-Lourdes, served by Ryanair and Bmi-baby, or Pau airport, served by ryanair. Toulouse and Biarritz airports are also possible.
• By Sea Closest ferry ports are Bilbao and Santander.

We support our local economy by living and working in the Pyrenees year round using local guides and instructors, local craftsmen and tradesmen. Our holidays are about discovering the mountain environment using leg power in both summer and winter seasons. We look at flowers, birds, animals and geological processes. We discuss the mountain ecosystem and climate zones, and the effect of global warming on the ecology. In Spring we run walking holidays specifically focusing on wild flowers, birds and butterflies. We also promote travel to the Pyrenees by public transport (Eurostar to Paris, TGV train to Lourdes, local bus service to Bareges). We also suggest to families that they can bring their own car on the ferry to Spain, thus avoiding short haul flights.
