Open adventure at your own pace, Montecristo River Lodge will be your home base to as much adventure as you want. We provide you with kayaks or canoes for you or your group; you decide how far you will want to go. If you’re in great shape could do San Carlos to Montecristo 45 Km in about 6 to 8 hour trek, or Montecristo to El Castillo in about 2 hour. Also you could spend the whole morning or afternoon in the smaller calm river that joint the San Juan River. For the more adventurous could do El Castillo to San Juan de Nicaragua (Graytown) in the Atlantic ocean 145 Km trek in about 3 nights, you must camp in the wild or in small village along the river.
Your also could do a horseback riding tour in the rain forest, or hike in our trails in our private wild life refuge for one day, and we can arrange for longer hiking at Indio-Maiz National Reserve, visit the historic town of El Castillo, or go to places were just a few outsiders have been, like undiscovered water fall and hot spring rustic and natural.
You could do some fishing from the river bank as well; this is a great area for birds and wildlife.
$75.00 per person per night all inclusive: room, all meal at the lodge, equipment, guide, refreshment and pick nick food for the trips.
