Winter Walking in the Cairngorms, Scotland

This winter walking skills break is perfectly suited to people with little or no previous experience of winter walking in Scotland. From our centrally located accommodation, we can easily visit the east, west or central Highlands, which means that we can go where the weather and snow conditions are best for walking each day. It also gives you the opportunity to explore several different mountain areas with contrasting scenery each day.

The high massif of the Cairngorms is the ideal venue for a winter walking weekend, with a good snow record and many excellent slopes for learning those ice-axe arrests! The plateau claims five of the six highest mountains in the UK and the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest that surrounds it is home to many rare and endangered species. Cairngorms National Park is a stunning environment to explore and our routes will allow us to experience the grandeur and tranquillity of this beautiful region of Scotland, while learning and building on winter walking skills.
