The annual PEPY Ride gives participants a chance to explore corners of Cambodia rarely visited by tourists, while learning about and supporting community development projects. This is a truly unique opportunity and our most off-road tour to date, so we are looking for people who are flexible, adventerous, and ready to get dusty!
Starting in Siem Reap, we will cycle the perimeter of the much-loved ancient temple city before absorbing the magic of Angkor Wat. Time here is then spent learning local crafts and exploring the rural community of Chanleas Dai, where participants can learn about educational projects provided by PEPY, our sister NGO.
The PEPY Ride VIII will next take us north around the Tonle Sap Lake and through some of Cambodia’s most Westerly provinces, before heading down toward Phnom Penh and on to the beautiful southern coast. To reach our goal of 1000km we’ll crank up the pace from time to time, sometimes covering 100km per day.
Taking in spectacular views and smiling faces, we will stop to enjoy local cuisine and Khmer hospitality at homestays along the way. We will delve into Cambodian culture and history whilst also taking time to visit local NGOs, gaining insight into development work and reflecting on how aid work can be both beneficial and detrimental.
The PEPY Ride VIII is going to be our most awe-inspiring and invigorating cycling adventure yet. If you have what it takes, we look forward to seeing you in December!
