Beach Chalets at the Green Turtle Lodge
Accommodation at Green Turtle Lodge is in the form of individual beach chalets. The beach chalets combine comfort and luxury with traditional African style. Large, airy rooms are attractively decorated and contain comfortable beds complete with mosquito nets. Self-contained rooms or those with shared bathroom facilities are available. Beach chalets are self-sufficient with their own solar panel providing the energy. Campers and overlanders are very welcome. A high standard of cleanliness is always maintained.
The beach chalets at Green Turtle Lodge have been made using traditional methods and we have tried, wherever possible, to use indigenous, sustainable materials throughout. The idea is that Green Turtle lodge has the appearance of a small village and that the buildings do not stand out inappropriately on the landscape. The clay chalets have been designed to ensure they remain naturally cool. The lodge is powered entirely by solar energy. The toilets are self- composting and shower water is used to feed plant species that thrive on soap minerals.

- While staying at Green Turtle Lodge you can have fun on the beach by borrowing our sports and beach games equipment, such as football, table tennis, table football, beach ball, body-boards, kites and more. Or why not challenge the Green Turtle staff to a game of volleyball?
We also have a book swap and a selection of board games to use in the comfort and shade of Papaye Lounge.
The bar at Green Turtle has a relaxed feel but we also know how to throw a party. We often host nights of traditional drumming and dancing and we love to end a party with a bonfire on the beach.

Why do we like them?
The muchbetter team was introduced to Green Turtle on a visit in the summer of 2010, and with sustainability at the heart of the organisation, we are delighted to welcome them into the family.
Tom and Jo have created a thriving hub for travellers and volunteers at the Green Turtle Lodge. Situated off the beaten track on a beautiful and secluded beach on the sunny west coast of Ghana, it really is a must-visit for travellers to this marvellous part of the world.
