Arrive: the day before the walking starts - try to aim for between 5 and 7pm so that you have time to settle in and meet the group before dinner.
Day 1: It's safety first with instruction/refreshment in winter skills - learn how to self-arrest, use crampons, kick steps - all the essentials are covered before we top out on Cairngorm's wintry summit.
Day 2: We travel west for Beinn a'Chaorainn and BEinn Teallach. Linked by a high pass these two Munros offer a great mountain walk. Our route follows the crest as the east flank drops in a series of cliffs and ridges giving a great sense of elevation.
Day 3: Overlooking the confluence of several glens and aloof from peaks of similar stature, Meall Chuaich provides superb views down into Badenoch and to the Cairngorms. Our circular route up and over makes for an easier but none the less very enjoyable day.
Day 4: At the very edge of a huge high moorland wilderness, Carn Dearg stands high & proud. From a wide open glen we rise to a beautiful lake filled coire baked by a headwall laced with ribbong of ice. We then gain the summit ridge to drop through red deer & blue hare territory to complete the route.
Day 5: The highest peak of Drumochter, Sgairneach Mhor with its cohorts stands guard. Our route gains the "Sow of Atholl" for dramatic views through the pass .
Depart: after breakfast the day after the walking finishes
