There are no hidden extras. The price includes: 2 nights accommodation in twin rooms at homely and friendly Fraoch Lodge; 2 practical days with a qualified instructor; delicious home cooked meals (from Sat. breakfast through to Sunday packed lunch. Fresh bread is baked daily! Transfers between Inverness Airport / Aviemore Station* at no extra charge; Cake O’clock - homemade cakes/biscuits and tea on our return from the mountains each day
This course is ideally suited for those:
• wishing to extend your hill-walking into the winter season
• planning to make regularly trips into the winter mountains this season
• who have a good grasp of mountain navigation already*
• wanting to learn how to use an ice axe and crampons
* On this course there just isn’t the time to do justice to both the winter skills and the complex skill of winter navigation.
Arrival: We suggest you aim to arrive by 9pm on the Friday so that there is enough time for all boots, crampons & ice axes to be checked on Friday evening.
Departure is Sunday evening, after the Cake O’clock! Please do not aim to book transport home until after 5.30pm. Additional accommodation is available for Sunday evening if you wish at the discounted rate of £35 (D, B&B).
