Self Guided Mountain Biking Holiday in Istria, Croatia
Our start point for this self guided tour is the village of Klostar, situated near the dramatic Lim fjord and provides an excellent introduction to the warm Croatian hospitality. From Klostar, our route heads inland through vineyards to the beautiful small town of Roc before moving on to Buzet in the heart of Istria's truffle country. From Buzet we follow a trail through the very heart of Istria to Motovun, another beautiful old town. From here we follow Parenzana (the old railway road) to the Gornja Bujstina region.
We book all your accommodation, transfer your luggage and then provide you with route notes and itinerary for you to do the trails ‘unguided’.
The riding here is ideal for the regular cyclist, those relatively new to mountain biking or for those looking for some cross country off road riding and to explore a hidden corner of Europe.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Klostar.
Day 2 : Klostar - Gracisce - Total distance – approx 44km / 27.5 miles.
Day 3: Gracisce - Roc - Total distance – approx 45km / 28 miles.
Day 4 : Roc - Buzet - Total distance – approx 42km / 26 miles.
Day 5 : Buzet - Motovun - Total distance – approx 35km / 22 miles.
Day 6 : Motovun – Gornja Bujstina - approx. 50kms / 25 miles.
Day 7 : Coast and Countryside , Round Trip approx 50kms / 31 miles.
Day 8: Departure.
