Welcome to Bike Weekender, specializing in supported road cycling and hosted mountain biking holidays in France. Based in the stunning French alpine resorts of La Clusaz and Grand Bornand we'll show you why our short mountain biking and cycling breaks for groups or singles have guests returning again and again. You, your family and friends will love our high level of service, catered chalet base and hosted bike rides as well as the little extras, such as market visits or local festivals and fetes that will ensure your cycling holiday is one to remember!

Our standard cycling weekends run over 4 days from Thursday night - Monday evening, although we are flexible when working with larger groups and can tailor packages to suit your needs - for instance if you want to ride a particular Tour de France col we can produce a route for you. The convenience of our short biking breaks is enhanced by the fact we are only one hour from Geneva airport, allowing your holiday to be all about your time in the French Alps, rather than your travel time between them!

All our packages include airport transfers, ensuite accommodation, breakfast, packed lunch, afternoon tea and cake, 3 course dinner with wine, hosted rides on at least 2 days, local maps and the full services of the Walk Weekender team.

Why do we like them?

We can say from experience that when taking a holiday with Karibuni you can be sure of a warm welcome, attention to detail, and a true determination to maximise your every moment out in the mountains. Nothing is too much trouble.

Paul and the rest of the team have always had a strong environmental ethos which has led to a number of big resource saving investments in recent years. They continue to look for new ways to improve, and have taken it on themselves to run regular audits. An admirable commitment.

What do they say?

Karibuni started with an aim to deliver sustainable tours and nothing has changed in the 10 years since. We always look to align our operations (both in the office and in our destinations) towards our basic principles of reducing our impact on the environment, finding the most sustainable ways of doing anything and trying to educate people as to how we can all do our bit to help reduce our negative impact on the environment.

Our chalet-hotel is audited for its environmental performance and our process of continual improvement has resulted in us reducing our energy consumption, improving insulation, installing solar panels, implementing a robust recycling and composting scheme and reducing our food miles. Sadly our hotel vegetable garden won’t feed all of our guests but it helps educate them and to illustrate the local seasonal produce on offer which we use wherever possible.

We operate in stunning (and yet sometimes fragile) mountain environments and we actively manage our groups’ activities to ensure they make as little impact as possible (if any!). We support low-impact natural outdoor activities and ensure all of our guests understand and interact with the local agricultural traditions and practices that make our region special. All of our guides and team have a deep appreciation of the environment and look to share this enthusiasm with our guests wherever appropriate.

In summary – we care and try to do our bit wherever possible and we greatly appreciate it when others join with us to do their bit!
