From July to November, the Humpback Whales come to Tonga to breed and nurse their young and there is a lot of action going on.
Breaches, fin and tail slaps, barrel rolls and courtship behaviour can all be observed from the boat. However, in Tonga it is also legal to swim with these gentle giants, so if the conditions are right, you can get up close and personal in the water with them. Particularly the young can be quite inquisitive and often approach the snorkelers.
Our Humpback interactions are conducted with a very cautious approach. We adhere to all current legislation and the welfare of the whales is - after the safety of our guests - our highest priority.
