Family Adventure Holiday in French Alps
The Family Adventure is a unique holiday designed for families with children from 4 to 12 who love the outdoors. Single parent families are very welcome.
The hub of the Family Adventure is a stunning eco lodge in Samoens. It has been featured in many design magazines and is quite breathtaking! Samoens is a heritage village in the heart of one of the most beautiful areas in the Alps.
The family run Lodge has a very special atmosphere and parents and children feel immediately at home. There are toys, books, hammocks, a mini climbing wall, and a big garden with a stream and veggie patch.
The children all have their jobs.. some collect fresh milk from the cows in the morning, some help Josh in the vegetable garden, some sweep!
4 of the days are organised and facilitated. The first day we hike from the door down to an Alpine Lake. Here we paddle, go on a trampoline and high (or low) ropes course in the trees.
The next day we hike to 'end of the world' and bathe under a waterfall and try to spot ibex, marmottes, tadpoles and fairies!
The highlight of the week is the hike up to a high mountain refuge with a donkey. We spend the night in a refuge sharing a huge dorm room.
On your 2 free family days you can try parapenting, white water rafting, going up to the Aguille du Midi in Chamonix and looking at Glaciers or drifting past Annecy by boat.
Your host is a trained Steiner & Yoga teacher, mother and was an Outward Bound Instructor in the USA for many years.
If there are more than 2 or 3 in your family, we recommend you bring your own car.
