Day1&2: Padis karst plateau
Padis karst plateau-the heart of Apuseni Nature Park. Visit the entrance of Caput Cave and learn about the karst landscape. Hike to Molhasurile de la Izbuce peat bogs. Find ice age relicts, some of them at the lowest altitude in Europe.
Day3&4: Cetatile Ponorului karst phenomena&mountain pastures
Visit the most impressive karst phenomena in Eastern Europe and one of biodiversity hotspots of the Apuseni Mountains-Cetatile Ponorului. Hike to Casa de Piatra hamlet, a tiny community of only 16 families. Pass by Tauz karst spring-the deepest karst spring in Romania- on your way to Ghetar Hamlet.
Day5&6: Arnica montana&Scarita Belioara nature reserve
Explore one of the highest permanent settlements in Romania. Watch a woodcarving craft demonstration. Visit the centre of conservation project Arnica Montana and find out about the efforts to protect this unique flower. Enjoy the coolness of Scarisoara Ice Cave, the largest underground glacier in the world. Explore Scarita Belioara nature reserve, a true paradise of wild flowers.
Day7&8: Bedeleu karst plateau&Departure
Dedicate your day to explore the Bedeleu karst plateau and Vanatarile Ponorului nature reserve. Hike through dense forests, limestone cliffs and large glades and focus on discovering wild orchids. Enjoy a farewell dinner at your guesthouse.
