Self Guided Speyside Walk, Scotland

If you fancy a holiday to Scotland then this is the break for you. Ranging from 65 miles walking over 5 days, to 92 miles walking over 7 days, the Speyside Walk is a fantastic area for a walking holiday through the heart of Scotland’s malt whisky country. This self-guided Speyside walk starts in Buckie, and travels south-west to Aviemore.

You start your Scottish walking holiday on the rocky shores of the Moray Firth at Buckie a wee fishing port with about 8,000 inhabitants. From Buckie you aim for Fochabers for your overnight stay, and then continue your Speyside Walk onto Craigellachie where the Earth Pillars and Telford Bridge are very worthwhile side trips. Continuing to walk to Ballindalloch and then finally Grantown with its Smokehouse, and Aviemore are reached to complete a wonderful few days walking through some of the best countryside Scotland has to offer.

During your Speyside walk you will be staying at hand-picked overnight accommodation in high quality B&B’s, country inns, and guesthouses in the Scottish countryside. Each is unique and offers the highest levels of welcome, atmosphere and outstanding local cuisine.
