Snowshoeing in the French & Spanish Pyrenees
This is a holiday with a difference. Snowshoeing is an excellent sport, and coming to the Pyrenees is a great way to shake the winter blues of the UK. Each day, we'll head off into a different area of the mountains, walk through beech and pine forests, climb summits for the stunning views, and downhill the snowy slopes. We'll learn about animal tracking, look at avalanche prediction, the winter environment, and have plenty of opportunity for taking some terrific photographs. There's a night walk where we'll watch the sunset and the moon rise and study the starts before heading home for our dinner. Expect to have lots of fun with snowball throwing, snowmen and snow angels!
The holiday includes five full days of guided snowshoeing in the French and Spanish Pyrenees with Kevin Albin, a qualified International Mountain Leader (UIMLA). Snowshoe and safety equipment supplied. Airport transfers, seven nights bed and breakfast accommodation, five packed lunches, six four-course evening meals with wine. There's a free day to relax in the thermal baths perhaps or try another sport such as skiing or parapenting.
