Event Notice: Himalayan Whitewater Championships

28th July 2011

What is the event?
The Himalayan Whitewater Championships or ‘Rodeo’ as it is locally known. An international whitewater kayaking competition held annually on the Trisuli River in Nepal. It is a great event to give Nepali paddlers the opportunity to compete at an international level.
Where is the news/event happening?
Fishling, on the Trisuli River in Nepal on the 2nd-4th December 2011
How can someone get involved?
If you are already in Nepal, pop into the GRG’s office to collect an application form. If you are overseas and want to compete, send us an email info@grgadventurekayaking.com and we will forward you the entry form.
All entries need to be in at least 48 hours before the event. Spectators welcome, the more the merrier, especially for the after parties on the beach!
How much does it cost?
Entry last year was $90. This will include your transport to and from Kathmandu, the events, food, tented accommodation and for those lucky enough some top notch prizes! You will need to supply your own paddle kit, however if you do not want to travel with your kayak, get in touch and we can let you know what we have available for hire.
How can we find out more?
The event should be on the Nepal Association of Rafting Agents website http://www.raftingassociation.org.np/ or email us on info@grgadventurekayaking.com and we can help!
The best part about the event is that Nepali competitors win top quality equipment which they may not otherwise be able to afford on a Nepali wage.
Hope to see you there. If you are in Nepal at the time, it is a really great event not to be missed.
