Rowing the Arctic - success!

A few weeks ago we bought you news of the adventurer Mark Beaumont, who was aiming to row to the Magnetic North Pole. Well, on Friday, the team managed to reach their goal, having rowed for 450 miles, and pushed their 1.3 ton boat for the final 2 miles.

Their trip, conceived by Jock Wishart the seasoned arctic explorer and rower, took nearly a month to complete, battling strong winds, waves, freezing weather and ice flows. As you can see from the video below, the final push was a massive effort for the guys, especially considering the amount of rowing they had been doing before!
