Having spent a year out in South America himself, Alex knows exactly what incredible experiences Andean Trails have in store for you. As true specialists in South American trekking, mountaineering, biking and rafting, and with a strong commitment to using friendly local accommodation, guides and businesses, you can be sure of an unforgetable experience.
You can also be sure that few international operators are doing as much as these guys to support and benefit the communities you visit and places you explore - making your trip go that much further.
Andean Trails is a specialist tour operator offering challenging small-group trekking, mountain biking, mountaineering, kayaking and jungle expeditions in the South American Andes and Amazon.
Through our fixed departures, as well as individually created tailor made itineraries, we aim to discover the spectacular wilderness areas, fascinating native cultures and diverse wildlife of this spellbinding continent.
Andean Trails is governed by a commitment to sensitive travel. Our philosophy means keeping groups small and working as much as possible with locally owned businesses and fairly paid local staff.
You will find yourself travelling with like-minded people - experienced trekkers, mountain bikers and climbers, as well as relative novices.
Most of our trekking, biking and jungle expeditions are fully supported, meaning you need only carry a small pack with items needed during the day, such as a camera, binoculars and waterproofs. The rest of the luggage is transported by porters, donkeys or a support vehicle. We find that while on trek, a certain level of comfort is appreciated. We are generally accompanied by a team of local staff who set up camp and cook for us. On trekking expeditions, kitchen, dining and toilet tents are usually provided.
