We have already integrated sustainable practices into most areas of operation but still plan to go further
Our Future Action Plan
- DONE! BikeHike Adventures will reduce the number of paper-based brochures sent between 2009 and 2011 from one each year to one each year and a half.
- DONE! BikeHike Adventures will continue to educate every client about our "leave nothing" policy as well as ways in which they can contribute to environmental sustainability in their home country in their Trip Kits and on the BikeHike.com website.
- DONE! In 2010, BikeHike Adventures staff members will travel to at least six different BikeHike destinations to ensure that all sustainability requirements are being met.
- NEW 2011/12: give a substantial donation to a different charitable cause every year.
- NEW 2011/12: We are transferring our media material and trip kits to an online format to eliminate paper wastage.
- NEW 2011/12: All employees in our Granville Island office are encouraged to use human powered transportation to commute to and from work. It is a goal to have a completely carbon neutral commute by 2012.
