What do we say?

Geovanny's Hacienda Tranquila are the winners of the Nat Geo Geotourism Challenge 2010 muchbetteradventures.com award. We love their approach to sustainability on the Galapagos and see them as thoroughly deserving winners. Not only can you get involved in significant environmental and social projects during your stay, it is a unique opportunity to make the most of the incredible surfing and horse riding available in the region. Nice!

Our Future Action Plan

  • Make top leader in community service of San Cristóbal
  • Set example of sustainable agriculture beyond community and expand organic methods
  • Partner with more restaurants to sell organic products from our farmers
  • Encourage young leaders to take part in project in order to sustain it in the future and promote to young kids sustainable values through outdoor education
  • By 2020 we aim to have replenish all the hectares within the Hacienda with native and endemic species. This will cover three ecosystem areas on the islands: transitional zone, miconia zone, and the escalasia zone.
  • Increase human capital by having 200 volunteers this year visit the Hacienda
  • Make the Hacienda a free center for social work with children in community
