How does this work?

Where are we going? Our muchbetter mission, vision and plan.

Much Better Adventures is a specialist adventure travel website putting adventure seekers in direct contact with recommended local providers. We are working in collaboration with leading names in the sustainability and travel sectors to tackle 3 problems:

1) the time, difficulty and expense faced by small local businesses trying to compete online,

2) the resultant difficulties faced by independent adventure seekers wanting to find and book with them,

3) the widespread problems of greenwash and ‘green fatigue’ among both consumers and industry.

The end result?

  • Your adventures directly contributing to conservation and sustainable development.
  • More money staying in local communities, helping them benefit more from tourism, and giving a value to conservation of their local areas.

How are we going to do it?

  • Stage 1 launched officially in Jan 2011:

Features the adventure travel directory; holiday discounts; traveller reviews, the grapevine; monthly adventure magazine, muchbetter ambassadors and the ‘Join Us’ campaign to encourage community suggestions - uncovering those great travel choices that you otherwise struggle to find.

We reward the most committed ethical businesses with more exposure on the site at no extra cost, and offer a sustainability consultancy developed in partnership with Sustainable Travel International.

  • Stage 2:

We are now working on advanced technological and marketing solutions to increase the market reach of our members, and to innovate the customer research and booking experience in a sector of the travel market that is notoriously disjointed and difficult to navigate. If we can make it easier for people to take ‘muchbetter’ choices, we think they will. We are picking up many likeminded partners on the way.

  • Stage 3:

Well, that would be telling. When the time is right, no doubt you will hear about our plans!
