Chalet Le Sabot

Chalet Le Sabot lies in the beautiful surroundings of Oz en Oisans, a small friendly resort perched in the mountains between Alpe d'Huez and Vaujany in the southern French Alps.

Chalet Le Sabot is luxurious, spacious, easy to get to (either flying or driving), has fantastic views from the balcony, is literally a stones throw from the Ski Lift, and can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. We also have a heated boot room to dry all your clothing and integral boot warmers for warm dry boots in the morning. When you come in from the slopes let our roaring log fire and full size sauna help with those aching muscles after a hard day skiing.

Whilst the location is unbeatable and the facilities impressive Chalet Le Sabot has always been about the food. Each year our guest chefs raise the standards bar ever higher and this year the bar has been raised to its highest level yet. Chalet Le Sabot is delighted to welcome chef Lee Hartfield to host our winter season. Lee has 27 years experience of fine dining in the most prestigious gentlemen’s clubs of London. He has served judges, QCs, celebrities of all shapes and sizes but among his many accolades the most notable to you and I is that he has served almost all of our ROYAL FAMILY at one point or other in his career, including HRH The Queen and Prince Philip, Charles & Camilla and Wills & Kate. Lee is developing his menus to bring the finest dining to the mountains.

Chalet Le Sabot is the creation of Derek and Katrina McWhinnie. We have skied in many different resorts in Europe and the Americas.  What we found was that if we were close to the slopes we’d have uncomfortable beds; if we had great food we’d also have cold boots in the damp boot room each morning; if we were close to the resort centre we’d have to endure a 3 hour transfer. So in 2007 Chalet Le Sabot was born where we are close to the slopes AND have comfortable beds; the food is fabulous AND our boots are toasty in the morning; we are 2 minutes walk to the centre AND the transfer is only an hour.

We hope you will agree that Chalet Le Sabot is a very special chalet indeed.
