Slow Adventure

Slow Adventure was founded by Margaret Leonard, a lifelong resident of Santa Cruz, California. Margaret has hiked extensively throughout the world, including Nepal (The Annapurna Sanctuary), Peru (The Inca Trail), New Zealand (The Milford Track), Switzerland (The Haute Route), and Spain (The Pyrenees). Slow Adventure was born out of her desire to create an inn-to-inn self-guided walking experience on the Monterey Bay to equal any of the great walks around the world.

Slow Adventure believes that the Monterey Bay with its' amazing beaches, wildlife, dunes, trails, and endless beauty can be best enjoyed on foot. The company’s signature hiking trip is known as Walk the Bay, a 5 day, 4 night, 40 mile inn to inn journey around the entire coastline of the Monterey Bay, from Santa Cruz to Monterey. Hikers of all ages and backgrounds have enjoyed this challenging journey of discovery.

Slow Adventure also offers cycling trips, day hikes, weekend walks, and other coastal activities, including beach clean-up efforts, as a way of instilling a love of the Monterey Bay in all who live or vacation in this special place.
