There are many challenges to face when hiking the Pyrenees, but the first will be deciding exactly which adventure you want to experience.

Reach the snow-covered 3,404m summit of Mount Aneto, the tallest mountain in the Pyrenees and the third tallest in Spain; take on the challenging Gavarnie-Ordesa Circuit on a hut-to-hut trek from France to Spain; conquer three spectacular peaks in three days; or traverse the Freedom Trail on an historical journey along a World War II escape route.

Treks in the Pyrenees require a certain degree of hiking experience and a good level of physical fitness, with some seeing you cover around 20-30km of craggy and snowy ascents and descents in a day. Summer brings the best weather for exploring the mountains and there are a number of French or Spanish airports you can fly to, depending on which route you choose.
