This chalet is located in the village of Argentiere, adjacent to the nursery slope of les Chosalets and approximately 800 metres from the world class ski resort of les Grand Montets.

Ski in/ski out access to the les Grand Montets ski resort is possible by going via les Chosalets nursery slope and then taking la Moraine cross country ski track to the Lognan cablecar. Les Chosalets nursery slope is located only a few minutes from the chalet and is a great area for beginner skiers and for families with young children. Beginner skiers can enjoy learning on the quiet and gentle slopes without the fear of more advanced skiers coming past at high speeds. Les Chosalets is also a good option for those looking to find a suitable toboggan slope.

The village of Argentiere can also be accessed on foot (approx 10-15 mins) via a maintained snow track or along the path next to the main road into Argentiere. The village has a great range of bars and restaurants, supermarket, newsagent, post office, doctors surgery, pharmacy and many other speciality shops catering to a wide range of needs.

Closer to the chalet, you find the highly recommended La Yaute Cafe and fine dining restaurant La Remise. Throughout the winter ski season, La Yaute Cafe hosts many talented and original live French bands - it’s not to be missed.

How does the in-resort shuttle service work?

Normally run as a morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up service, your driver will transport you to a ski lift of your choice each day. There’s some flexibility too, so your hosts can help you get around resort to make the most of your holiday.

I heard Chamonix is for advanced skiers - what options are there for beginners?

Le Tour is a great resort to start your week if you are a little nervous – the big wide open nursery slopes of La Vormaine allow you to regain your confidence on very gentle terrain – once you feel like you are getting all the old skills back, you can head up on the cable car to tackle the nicely groomed blue slopes including the very picturesque run – ‘belle place’ – which takes you through beautiful tree lined terrain and over to the Swiss facing slopes of the resort. La Vormaine (having it’s unique isolated location) is also a great area for complete novices whereby beginners can be re-assured that skiers of a more competent ability won’t be rushing by them when they are learning.

How snow sure is the Chamonix Valley?

With 90% of the ski terrain above 2000m’s, the Chamonix Valley has a perfect track record of having very good snow conditions all winter.

Les Grands Montets in particular is a very good option in the spring season. It has the added advantage of having north facing slopes, meaning the snow does not get sun affected. Les Grands Montets is regularly regarded as having the best snow conditions in Europe in the latter part of the season.

This is evident with les Grands Montets remaining open until the 1st weekend in May, well beyond the closing dates of most other ski resorts in Europe.
