A really homely, lovely chalet and excellent meals: Diane, Vic and Marie made us all so welcome. The chalet is in a very good location for the free shuttle bus, ski shops and town. It is a very warm and comfortable chalet, and Diane is an excellent chef and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hot tub is delightful and most welcome after a hard day's skiing. The chalets location is also only a short walk from the airport transfer buses, so no problem there. Highly recommend this accommodation, would definitely stay there again.

Good food (and big portions!). Great hottub. Good location for town and slopes. Robes supplied as well as towels. Lovely wood fire lit every night. Owner run (ie not managed by a ski company- meant better food and more care and effort taken in managing guest and property)

Great food, great location, great hot tub!: Chalet Ruby is situated in a very convenient location close to the Diable Ski Lift at the more central part of Les Deux Alpes close to the Venosc tele cabin. Diane, Vic and Marie gave us all a very warm welcome and made us feel at home. The food and wine is very good, plenty of it with good variation throughout the week, Diane goes to lengths to make sure everyone's need are catered for - you will never go hungry at Chalet Ruby. The Hot Tub is a welcome salvation for tired ski legs at the end of a day's hard skiing - never woke up with sore or aching legs throughout my stay. Dianes cakes are simply wonderful and a treat to comeback to in the afternoon. Tuesday is Diane's day off so would recommend the Casa Nostra for your night out - really nice but make sure you book a table at the begining of the week. The chalet rooms all have en-suite which is a bonus, with an abundance of hot water. The dinning/living area is very comfortable with a welcoming roaring log fire. All in all, a very enjoyable stay that I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Les Deux Alpes for a ski vacation.

Decent location, Great food and hospitality, Great Hot Tub!: First trip to a privately run chalet. This was an excellent choice as being owner run makes for a much better experience for a similar price to a package deal we booked our own flights at a reasonable price and private transfers avoiding coach faff completely!. Being owner run, Dianne and Marie really looked after us well. The food was really good- a big step up from the food you normally get on a package chalet deal and included a good mix- a fantastic roast, a really good curry and some of the more french things like duck breasts etc. And HUGE portions! The fire was lit every night and a really nice warm place to relax in after the slopes. The Hot tub was also excellent and they provided robes. Rooms were basic but had everything needed and showers warm even when last one in. Decent ski and boot room- really warm boots in the morning was lovely! You can walk to the diable chair in about 10mins or there is a decent bus service to the beginner area in the centre of town which takes a similar amount of time. Highly recommend this chalet.

An absolute gem, I have been skiing in France and staying in catered chalets for many years and this is the best so far.... Location is perfect just 10 seconds walk to the free bus route which then took 5 minutes to get to ski school. I had two boys at ski school and was able to leave the chalet at 8:45 and still be at the ESF meeting point before 9:00. There are lots of nice bars and restaurants around. Food. Wow food was plentiful and of the highest quality. Full English with cereal and croissant in the morning. Freshly made cake when just off the slopes, and a 3 course meal every night except the last when a cheese course was added to make it 4. Not your normal chalet food with such a varied menu including the most amazing duck breast, home made curry night, roast pork dinner to name some of my highlights. All meal were accompanied by a choice of wines which were very good not the usual cheap stuff you get in catered chalets. Facilities, all rooms with ensuite and the chalet has a hot tub for after the long days on the ski slopes. Living area was comfy and all the mod cons you would want including free wifi (an essential for the kids), Rooms were beautifully finished. So what made this the best was not just all of the above but the fact that this chalet is run by its owners and not a seasonal chalet team (though they can also be very good in my experience). Diane and Victor were perfect hosts knowledgable of the area and absolutely focuses on making the experience the best possible. Nothing was too much trouble be it alternative meals for the children or providing medicine and pick you ups for colds and ailments. They were assisted by Marie who had the same ethos as the owners and when opportunity arose joined us skiing. All in all a superb holiday had by all the party of 15. If travelling to Les Deux Alpes again I would certainly stay here again.

Excellent: From the minute we arrived till the minute we left nothing was to much from our hosts !! Superb food fantastic accommodation. Can't recommend this chalet enough. When they named it chalet ruby they got it right because it is a real Jewel!!

The perfect chalet experience: Chalet Ruby is a lovely chalet situated in the liveliest part of what is a hidden paradise in the Alpes. Having skied all the big resorts in France with most tour operators, the warm, personal and welcoming approach taken by Di, Vic and Marie really made my holiday an experience to remember. The resort itself has a large well maintained ski area with a good mix of runs and offers access to la grave, Europes biggest unpisted ski area. Having skied here in the past the new blue run back down to the resort makes the journey home to one of Les Deux Alpes many après bars all the most enjoyable with those tired afternoon legs. Di offers a superb spread for both breakfast and supper with delicious food served and a constant supply of cookies and cakes. The rooms are clean and comfortable and climbing into your bath robe after a dip in the jacuzzi is an experience not to be missed! Chalet Ruby is most definitely worth a visit if your familiar with Chalet style ski holidays and sets a very high standard to beat if it's your first time in the mountains.

Fabulous chalet in perfect location - would highly recommend: By far the best chalet experience we've had - the rooms were large and comfy, the bathrooms (all ensuite) were clean and well looked after, the hot-tub was always a perfect temperature and the food was delicious & plentiful. We've definitely had confirmation from this holiday that when staying in a private chalet such as Chalet Ruby there is so much more flexibility and care taken compared to one run by a travel company; in this instance Vic & Diane (and Marie) couldn't do more to ensure that all guests were happy at all times and full to bursting with delicious home made food. Thank you again for a wonderful stay and being so accommodating to our large group of mixed ages, food tastes & general requirements

A treasure of a find. Fantastically placed Chalet in the older part of the village. Diane, will ensure your stay is cosy, warm with gorgeous meals served every evening. Breakfast is always served with a smile and on your return from the slopes each day there is a freshly cooked cake and cookies to enjoy. Marie and Vic will make sure you're looked after with serving dinner, wine and making your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, even down to making sure the Hot Tub is warm enough!. Highly recommend this place and we WILL be back to enjoy this treasure of a find.

Great location, well stoked log fire, generous wine provisions and some of the best chalet food I've had. Di, Vic and Marie were brilliant hosts- fun company with excellent local knowledge and took care of us so well. Highly recommended for a group holiday in Les Deux Alpes.

Spent a great week at Chalet Ruby. Beautiful chalet, perfectly located for the slopes and shops. The food prepared by Diane was too good I'm still trying to work it off. Hot tub was an added bonus. Home from home accommodation. Thank you Diane and Marie had a lovely week. X

Had a great week at Chalet Ruby over christmas. Food was fantastic. Diane, Vic and Marie are great hosts. Nothing was too much. Even helping out looking after my injured knee. Location ideal for easy access to Le Diable chair lifts and The Jandri Express . Free bus stop at the bottom of the road. Hope to return in the future.
