Traditional Oisans farmhouse on the outside, chic, smart home on the inside. Sleeping 24 people, this chalet has been extensively refurbished to the highest of standards while at the same time managing to retain its homely, charming, traditional characteristics. The Food

Don’t expect bog-standard meals at this chalet. Menus are carefully crafted using locally sourced, fresh ingredients and there’s a passion for presentation that will run throughout your stay. Your chef will balance your need for a hearty meal after a day skiing with a balanced diet. You’ll enjoy high quality, organic products and authentic regional cuisine with subtle flavors, creative flair and delicate finesse.

Breakfast is a feast of homemade jams, organic juices and fried eggs served with home-smoked, locally prepared bacon.

Afternoon tea includes delights such as sweet pumpkin pie, carrot pecan nut cake, Savoyarde chocolate cake or cheese cake made from locally sourced ingredients.

Pre-dinner treats include finger food specialties such as dry-cured hams, all served in front of a roaring fire. On 1 evenings of your stay you’ll also experience ‘Happy Hour Le Chic’ - a complimentary journey through specially selected Champagnes, wines and tasty amuses, all served before dinner.

The 3 courses served during dinner will be a truly memorable affair, showcasing your chef’s skills and leaving you grinning not groaning.

Accommodation

Chalet Layout

600m2 of space is divided over 3 floors which are divided into 4 apartments.

On the ground floor there’s a stylish dining room with a vaulted stone ceiling. This leads to the living room which has large sofas and a contemporary design. There’s also a TV room with satellite channels and a games console. Also on this floor you’ll find a sauna, a wellness centre and a built-in waterfall.

Three apartments are encased within the buildings first floor, the first of which includes a double bedroom, an en-suite with steam shower and a lounge with a terrace and great views.

The second apartment is divided into 2 bedrooms, which can be set as doubles or twins. There’s a separate bathroom with a huge bath tub, a double height ceiling in the lounge area with exposed wooden beams, wood stove and access to a private garden.

Inside the third apartment there are 2 double or twin bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite jacuzzi and a family room with a double bed and bunk beds. There’s a beautiful living room with a wood burning stove and access to a private terrace.

The forth and final penthouse apartment occupies the top floor of the chalet and covers 102m2. There are 4 double or twin bedrooms, a jacuzzi, a bright, breathtaking living room split over 2 floors and a sheltered balcony.

All apartments include a flat screen TV, DVD player and satellite channels.

Location

Situated in one of the oldest hamlets of Oz en Oisans, Le Bessey, this chalet has an eagle’s view of the Belledone Valley leading to the slopes of Alpe d’Huez- the gateway to one of the largest linked ski area in France- Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski.

Your hosts provide an on-call shuttle service to and from the slopes, which are a 4 minute drive from the chalet.

F.A.Q.

What activities can I get involved in if I don’t want to ski?

Whilst Alpe d’Huez is known for it’s exceptionally good ski terrain, the resort and it’s various outlying villages have developed to offer many fun off-snow activities. Ask your chalet hosts to help you arrange a snowshoeing expedition or an adrenaline-fueled skidoo session.

Can I book this chalet by the room? Or do I have to book the whole thing?

Bedrooms at this chalet are available to book by the room or as a whole property.

Are my transfers to resort included?

They’re not, but your hosts can arrange these for you using their recommended airport transfer company.
