Le Grand Joux is a privately owned alpine lodge and spa, neatly tucked away in the secluded mountain hamlet of Graydon, in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, France. The chalet is accessed via private snowmobile or helicopter during the winter months.

Guests at Le Grand Joux are offered a fully inclusive and bespoke service.

Our Lodge manager ensures the smooth running of the lodge day-to-day, and will take care of your every need. You will begin your day with breakfast prepared by our professional chef, and while you’re out and about, a sumptuous afternoon tea is prepared and laid out for your return. In the evening, you can relax with some pre-dinner drinks and canapés before sitting down to a delicious dinner. After dinner, you can enjoy coffee, liqueurs and chocolates in front of the roaring log fire.

A team of qualified spa therapists are on hand to make you feel totally relaxed and rejuvenated after each day of mountain activities. A ski expert is available for your exclusive use and will help you plan your snow activities. If you’re concerned about transport, don’t be, our transport manager will get you to and from the lodge, arrange your ski passes, ski or board hire and any lessons you may require.

Good food, impeccable service and fine, well-chosen wines are all things Le Grand Joux take very seriously. Prior to your visit, our professionally trained chef, will contact you to understand your likes and expectations and create enticing menus to suit your tastes. We place great importance on using the finest produce and where possible, we use seasonal ingredients sourced from ethical and local suppliers.

We care as much about your breakfast as we do your evening dinner, with every element designed to tantalise your taste buds. When you return from your activities freshly baked treats will await you. Later, you can relax in front of the fire and enjoy your aperitif with a selection of delicious canapés, followed by a fantastic evening dinner. Younger children are not left out; combined with a little magic and some advice from the parents, the chef can plan special menus, ensuring the little ones also enjoy wonderful food.


Le Grand Joux is laid out over 3 floors with approximately 440sqm, and provides a stylish mix of alpine rustic charm with vintage luxury. Decorated throughout with bespoke furniture and the very best fabrics and materials, the lodge offers both comfort and style to its guests.

Located on the ground floor is the open plan living and dining area, furnished with comfortable armchairs and a sumptuous sofa, inviting you to relax in front of the roaring open log fire.

On the upper floor, there are five bedrooms each with well appointed en-suite bathrooms. The swimming pool and spa facilities are located on the garden level with the spa opening out onto a spacious yoga deck complete with hot tub, sauna, yurt and of course, glorious views.

Surrounded by snow covered mountains, this remote retreat offers every comfort and luxury expected from a top-class lodge, and the high class service that you would expect at one of the most intriguing addresses in the Alps.


The French Alps is one of Europe’s best locations for a ski vacation, and the Portes du Soleil, offering over 650km of linked pistes, is one of its largest ski area.

Graydon is a tranquil hamlet located at the foot of the Roc d’Enfer mountains, and sits in the heart of this vast region. It’s hollow bowl is a huge alpine pasture, surrounded by stunning steep cliffs. For great skiing you can access any of the lifts that service this area of the Portes Du Soleil ski slopes via snowmobiles to the village of Essert Romand and then a quick trip in chauffeur driven Land Rover Defenders to any of the lifts within the Morzine, Avoriaz, Grand Terche or Les Gets ski resorts .
