Your hosts, Grant and Alexandra, are both passionate skiers and highly accomplished cooks. As the owners, we take pride in giving the warmest of welcomes, and providing the highest quality accommodation, service and dining.

Summer guests can also choose to enjoy the chalet on a self-catered basis, and have the use of our heated swimming pool and BBQ in the large, sunny, garden.

We can help arrange airport transfers, lift passes, equipment hire, ski lessons, and even join you on a ski around the area if you would like (just ask). Our guests also receive a generous discount for equipment hire at selected shops, and can store equipment up the mountain, over night, free.

Our 5 guest bedrooms are very comfortable and generous. There’s a mix of doubles and twins, a family room and a family suite. Each has its own bathroom with a full bath with shower and of course lashings of hot water – that won’t run out!

Beds are made up with cotton sheets, feather and down pillows and duvets (or synthetic for allergy sufferers) and the big fluffy towels are changed mid week. There are proper hair driers in the bedrooms and plenty of storage space.

All bedrooms have iPod docking stations.

All rooms have wonderful views, and two have balconies.

At the heart of the Giffre valley, only an hour from Geneva, the beautiful mountain village of Samoëns sits at the foot of the majestic Criou Mountain. The village is the only french ski resort to be listed as a Monument Historiques and is set in some of the most splendid scenery in the Alps.

With its proximity to Mont Blanc, the region boasts an excellent snow record , 265 km of piste, and skiing up to 2500 m. The area is excellent for skiers and boarders of all levels from beginners to off-piste thrill junkies. There are15 green runs, 53 blue, 51 red and 14 black runs and 3 snow parks.

Also a paradise for non-skiers, other activities include 90 km cross country pistes, 60 km of marked tracks for snow shoeing, paragliding, ice climbing, dog sledding, alpine walking, ice skating, guided heritage tours and a world renowned alpine botanical garden. We know some excellent local guides who can take you on magical snow shoeing walks, where you can spot animal tracks & even build your own igloo.

As Samoëns is populated year round and is not a purpose built ski resort but a thriving community, it hosts a wide selection of interesting shops bars and restaurants catering to all tastes.
