Accommodation

Chalet F’Net above Saint Gervais Mont Blanc, is a unique, romantic and stylish traditional small chalet in the French Alps; an evocation of the elegance and romance of the bygone era of Hepburn, Grant, Niven and Aran Sweaters and a great location whatever the season and about an hour’s drive from Geneva.

An 19th century Chalet d’Alpage (shepherd’s refuge) and Mazot, a mini-chalet, Le F’Net is about an hour’s drive from Geneva perched on the trail up to the Prarion Mountain; with superb views across the glorious Chaine D’Aravis mountain range. Surrounded by its own private woodland and on old defunct piste [ still skiable off piste] to St Gervais, it is a ten minute walk from parking or directly accessible by 4×4 when the track is not snow-covered; yet feels like a world away. Featured in Marie Claire France, Biba, Cosy Montagne, and La Maison the French equivalent of Grand Designs on which our other main home, The Curved House, Clapham featured.

Location

Le F’Net is about an hour’s drive from Geneva perched on the trail up to the Prarion Mountain; with superb views towards the glorious Chaine D’Aravis mountain range.

Surrounded by its own private woodland and a slice of now defunct piste it is a short walk from parking OR directly accessible by 4×4 [outside the ski season], and even in full snow it is only a STEEP but not dangerous ten minute walk up or an even shorter skidoo ride or ski joring (towed by horse on skis); yet feels like a world away. Locals run up. I stagger….

From the communal parking below the chalet it is a 5 minute or so drive to the centre of Saint Gervais and its commercial, culinary and cultural facilities. The main ski lift to the Saint Gervais/Megeve ski domain is just beyond the town centre.

There is however a drag lift a few hundred metres above the chalet itself, linking into the Les Houches domain. Subject to snow conditions it is then possible to powder ski back to the chalet door from the Les Houches runs.
