The Food

Your hosts are committed to preparing wholesome food using strictly local produce. The menu is a delicate blend of English, Belgian, and Savoyard cuisine. Quality skiing requires quality fuel, so don’t fear any small portions.

What you can expect

For breakfast, there’ll be fresh bread delivered daily alongside a selection of cereals, jams, cheeses, hams, a fresh fruit bowl, and fruit juice. You can also order eggs and porridge the morning before, except on the chalet day off.

Afternoon tea will be waiting for you on your return from skiing. There’ll be proper jaffa cakes, red fruit tart, lemon drizzle cake and a few cupcakes.

Here’s a sample menu for your dinner, so you know what you’re in for:

  • Roasted red pepper and tomato soup served with cheesy twists for your starter
  • Belgian beef casserole served with leek and couscous for your main
  • Winter apple crumble served with custard for your dessert

Dinner is topped off with a local cheeseboard and some port.

On the chalet day off, breakfast (except the hot option) will have been laid out the day before.

Your hosts

Your hosts, a team run by Andy and Sylvie, can help with every aspect of your trip. They are an unlikely pairing from totally different backgrounds but between them, they have the complimentary skills required to run the business effectively.

They share a passion for exceptional customer service and are both present in the chalets every day throughout the winter.

They probably love skiing more than you do, and so they know exactly what makes a great ski trip.

On the 2nd floor, there’s a television area with a retro games machine, and three further ensuite bedrooms (a triple and 2 x quad rooms).

You’ll be able to make the most of the vast Portes du Soleil region courtesy of the free ski bus that accesses the Pleney or Prodain cable cars in around 5 minutes.

Morzine’s town centre is a 15-minute walk away and is home to many delicious local restaurants and bars, perfect for the chalet day off.

The bus runs every 10 minutes in each direction from outside the chalet every day between 8am and 8pm, giving the option of après ski in either Morzine or Avoriaz.

You can stay at this chalet year after year and always find something new for all abilities. This is because Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets and Portes du Soleil are only a few cable cars away.

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?

Yes! Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free can all be catered for. If given notice they are happy within reason to adapt their menus to your specific tastes and dietary requests but please do bear in mind that chalets are mostly private houses and do not have vast kitchens or teams of chefs to cope with cooking separate meals for everyone.

Do you do separate children’s meals?

Your hosts can provide a child-friendly supper with two courses of home cooked and nutritious food. Your hosts will have a chat with you about your children’s diet to find out what they like and what they don’t like. They will usually offer the same menu as the parents but simplified and with no strong flavours.

What happens on the chalet day off?

Chalet staff will have a well earned day off during your stay, usually Wednesday. On this day, breakfast and afternoon tea will be laid out for you to help yourself and you are free to sample one of the local restaurants in the evening. Staff will be pleased to help with recommendations and bookings.
