Road Cycling

Alpine Adventure can arrange cycling day trips or week long itineraries. We can arrange bike hire and have plenty of secure bike storage space at La Vieille Ferme de la Moussiere. Support vehicles to accompany you on longer rides can also be arranged.

Breakfast

Kick-start each morning with a delicious continental breakfast. Pancakes, freshly baked breads, warm croissants and pastries, a selection of cereals, yogurts, jams and fruit, cheese and cold-meat platters, eggs and bacon, fresh fruit juice and a selection of hot-drinks. Our staff are always available at breakfast time to give you the latest weather report and help you to decide where would be the best place to ride that day.

Beautifully restored, character-full 300 year old house in the village centre. Extremely spacious living accommodation and huge ensuite bedrooms. Overflowing with character and charm.

Breakfast is served in our large, open-plan living area. Tea and coffee making facilities and free wifi internet access are available throughout the day.

There’s plenty to keep you entertained: A flat-screen TV (UK channels), extensive DVD and MP3 library, board games and a huge games room complete with pool table, dart board, second tv/dvd area and playstation.

All 5 chalet bedrooms are extremely spacious and can be configured as doubles (super-king sized!), twins or triples. Three of the rooms can comfortably sleep a family of 4. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and most have spectacular mountain views. For your comfort we provide luxury duvets, fine Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy towels, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers, i-pod docks and quality toiletries.

Outside our garden and patio area offer marvellous views over the Morzine mountains and our luxury outdoor hot-tub is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of champagne before dinner. Ample parking is available at the chalet for those who choose to drive. There is also plenty of room to store your bike securely.

The mountains surrounding Morzine are popular with cyclists from all over the world. The Tour de France regularly passes through the area and has made the challenging climbs up the region’s mountain passes famous. Whether you want to challenge yourself and conquer one of the formidable cols or simply enjoy a family day out amidst some beautiful scenery, this is the area for you!

Cycling is also the perfect way to travel around and take in the spectacular scenery of the Portes du Soleil.

Example Itinerary:

  • Col du Corbier

This extremely steep climb passes by a few scattered villages including Le Biot, with its open market hall and old chalets. The ride offers superb views of the Vallée d’Aulps and then Abondance valley.

Gradient: 8.6% ; Distance =7.5km ; Altitude change = 775m
