7-Day Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 Warm up Day

  • Everyone will be arriving at the chalet, collecting their bikes, just overall acclimatizing, relaxing, and exploring the new terrain.

Day 2 Col de Petit Saint Bernard

  • Take on the Col de Petit Saint Bernard, than continuing into Italy to explore the Aosta Valley.

Day 3 Cormet de Roselend

  • Cycle into Cormet de Roselend for either a picnic by the lake or cycle over the Col de Pré and through the Beaufort Valley.

Day 4 Col D’Iseran

  • The Col D’Iseran Is the highest pave mountain pass in Europe at 2764m. Cycle from the chalet or start at Val D’Isere, descend into the Maurienne Valley and climb the Col de Mont Cenis.

Day 5 Lake Annecy

  • The 40km 2009 time trial route round the beautiful Lake Annecy. Swim and relax by the lake, take a tandem paraglide flight or cycle the col de Forclaz or Semnoz for a birds eye view.

Day 6 Col de la Madeleine

  • Cycle the famous Col de La Madeleine finishing in La Chambre

Day 7 Col de Croix de Fer

  • Either up the col de Croix de Fer and down the Col de Glandon or the other way round.

Accommodation

Chalet Myrtilles is a traditional 300 year old building that has been carefully restored to provide modern comforts while retaining its character.

The boot room and bedroom 1 are on the ground floor. The chalet is split level and on the next level are two more bedrooms with a further two on the next level. The final level has the kitchen and large living area with a log fire and a south facing balcony with mountain views.

Three of the bedrooms are completely en suite with shower, wash basin and wc. The other two rooms have their ow bathrooms with shower and wash basin and a shared wc.

Adjacent to the chalet and accessed via the boot room is a sauna room.

Location

Quiet location in an authentic Alpine village in the Vanoise National Park. with great access to some famous cols.

Chalet Myrtilles is ideally situated for cycling some of the famous Alpine stages of the Tour De France and Dauphine De Libere, including: Col de La Madeleine Mountain stage finish Arc 1800 Col de Petit Saint Bernard Mountain stage finish La Plagne Cormet de Roselend Col D’Iseran (the highest paved mountain pass in Europe)

A short drive from the chalet is the stunning Lake Annecy where you can simply cycle round the lake or climb The Col de Semnoz The Col de Forclaz The Col de Tamie

Further afield but easily accessible Col de Galibier Col de Telegraph Col de Glandon Col de Croix de Fer 21 hairpins of Alp D’Huez
