Introductory prices per person per week for 2016 range from 480€ (3 sharing a room, B&B only) to 700€ (twin share with ½ board option). However please contact us to check availability and receive a quote based on your group size.

Individual Coaching will begin immediately after you have placed a booking via:

  • A Pre-Holiday Training Plan, specific to each rider attending the camp, which will give you the best chance of arriving ready and raring to go for your weeks Training Camp.
  • During your stay, tips and advice during guided rides, including climbing, descending, nutrition, pacing etc
  • At the end of your stay, a post holiday training plan
  • The option of ongoing coaching support (for a monthly subscription fee) via email for those who wish to continue to improve!

Daily Guided Rides can either be a fixed itinerary (however we always keep some flexibility to suit weather conditions) or custom made if you have any specific routes already in mind.

Both options will take your fitness levels into account therefore it is important that your group does not contain a large variation in abilities (please contact us to discuss this further if you have any concerns)

There is also the option to provide vehicle support instead of guided riding, although please note that in-ride coaching advice will not be available in this case!

The result of more than two years of blood, sweat and tears (luckily there wasn’t too much blood!), our purpose built modern Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Bourg d’Oisans is set in a stunning valley location under two kilometres outside of the town centre, and a short five minute ride to the base of Alpe d’Huez.

The large house (239 sq.m plus double garage) has a spacious lounge and dining area, plus 70sq.m outdoor deck with spa (giving you a great view of the mountains, of course!), plus UK TV, wifi / internet, and home cinema (projection onto 2.2m equivalent screen).

All bedrooms are ensuite, and there are three double / twin rooms available, as well as two larger family rooms which sleeps up to four. Card access doors (like a modern hotel) means you won’t be carrying bunches of keys around. All our beds are high quality, there is plenty of storage in each room, and our modern pellet boiler means that there will always be lots of hot water for a relaxing shower after a hard ride in the mountains.

Breakfast is usually a selection of home baked croissants & pain au chocolat, bio yoghurts (made in house), a range of cereals, muesli, & porridge, fresh bread or toast and home made jams as well as ham, cheese orange juice, tea and coffee. Our aim is to ensure that you are well fuelled and ready for the day!

Some key features include:

  • Large, modern property (built Summer 2013)
  • UK satellite TV, Home cinema & Playstation (projector onto 2.2m screen) in - separate guest lounge
  • Wifi / internet
  • Large deck and spa
  • Bike storage + tools
  • Washing facilities
  • Tea & Coffee making facilities
  • Private parking

The climbing of mountains and passes is what it’s all about when you are cycling in the Alps, and there are plenty to choose from in the Oisans valley. As well as the big ones you will have probably heard of such as Alpe D’Huez, the Col du Galibier, and the Col du Glandon & Col de la Croix der Fer, there are plenty of others to explore in this region. Bourg D’Oisans borders the largest national park in France, the Park Ecrins, and stunning scenery is everywhere.

As the climbs round here can be up to 13% but more importantly 25km or more (fortunately not both!), you’ll need some pretty low gearing in order to be comfortable for a days riding. Either a compact chainset with a 27 or 28 tooth large sprocket, or a triple chainset would be best for most people. If you are a good ‘B’ grade racer or better you could maybe get away with a compact chainset and a 25 tooth sprocket, but might find yourself grinding a little on the steeper slopes. You’ll need to be an ‘A’ grade rider or better if you want to ride all day round here with a standard chainset! (or get a huge dinner plate for a rear sprocket!).

As there are many different routes and climbs accessible from Bourg D’Oisans, we can take you on rides ranging from 20 - 30km of (relatively!) flat riding up to mammoth all day rides of 170km with 5000m of ascent included. For those days when you dont want to commit until you see how your legs feel, there are plenty of options for rides that take in some great climbs but without straying too far from Bourg D’Oisans. That way, if you want to cut your ride short, or add an extra climb, you can.

For those who are interested in seeing exactly how long it took them to get up each climb, and compare yourself against others, for a small fee the local tourism office sells or rents “Timtoo” timing chips. These can be kept in your pocket or saddle bag, and after your ride you go online and see how you fared. 27 climbs and routes are covered in the Bourg D’Oisans area.
