Climbing a mountain on two wheels is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding things you can experience on a bike. Each summer the mountains of the French Alps become the playground for thousands of cyclists from all over the world. Some riders will race up them, trying to break personal bests, others prefer to shift down a few gears, taking their time to admire the scenery. Thats the great thing about our Classic Climbs of the French Alps cycling holidays, they have been designed to cater for all abilities so everyone can enjoy them.

Each day will bring with it a new opportunity to experience these great mountains and the twisting roads that make their up them. Your week will involve approximately 650km of riding with some 14,500 metres of ascent and descent through some of the most spectacular scenery in the French Alps. Our rides will include many of the legendary mountains that have featured in the Tour de France - Alpe D’Huez, Col du Galibier, Col de la Madeleine, Cormet de Roselend, Col du Telegraphe and Lacets de Montvernier just name a few.


All your rides will be fully supported leaving you free to focus on - pedalling. Each day you will be accompanied on the road by knowledgeable guides, they will be there to offer advise, encouragement and to help with any miner mechanical problems. We will also provide a support vehicle offering nutritional and mechanical support this will meet you at per-arranged stops along the route. The support vehicle will carry energy bar, fresh water and energy drinks to keep your performance levels to the maximum. It will also carry any warm or wet weather clothing you might need during your ride.

Chalet Madeleine is a typical Savoyard style chalet, constructed over three floors, sleeping 10 guests in 5 spacious twin bedrooms. each floor has a well appointed bathroom and toilet.


The lounge area is furnished to a high standard, with comfy leather sofa’s providing the perfect place to relax after a hard day in the saddle. For your entertainment it is equipped with Free Wifi Access, Flat Screen TV, Sky Sports, DVD Player, iPod Docking Station and Xbox Game Console.


Our bedrooms have been designed with one thing in mind… a great nights sleep for all our guests. Each room is finished to a good standard and has everything you would expect and more - amazingly comfortable beds, snuggly duvets, crisp-clean linen, soft fluffy towels and dressing gowns . For added security each room is also fitted with a safe.

In many chalets you will be ducking under eaves and struggling for space in your bedroom, that is not the case in Chalet Madeleine, all our rooms are very spacious with full height ceilings.
