The town is surrounded by some of the legendary climbs of the Tour de France. 2010 saw the Tour de France return to the area again with a stage finish in Avoriaz, a rest day in Morzine, and then a departure from Morzine the following day. Ride & Slide were proud to host the Team Sky Pro Cycling team during the 2010 tour, take a look at our dedicated page for more information.

Climbs such as the Col de Joux Plane, Col de la Ramas, Col de la Joux Verte, Col de l’Encrenaz are all within a short distance of the chalet and show exactly why the Tour de France visits the area so often, and more importantly why the region makes such a great base for a cycling holiday.

There are more gentle routes along the valley floor, with a number of smaller climbs along the way to get your legs warmed up on the first couple of days of the holiday, after which we can suggest a number of our favourites routes taking in the larger cols.

You can be assured, whether you chose a single Col, a long loop, or a roll along the valley floor, we can point you in the direction of some stunning scenary and one of the worlds best cycling destinations.

The photos in the gallery are a selection of shots from stages 8, 9, and the first rest day of the 2010 Tour de France.

You can also now save yourself the worry of flying your bike out to Morzine. Our friends at Alps Bike Hire offer a fantastic range of Giant road bikes for hire meaning you only need to bring your helmet, shorts, and shoes!

Chalet Guytaune is the Ride & Slide flagship chalet.

The chalet is located in a beautiful elevated position, providing stunning views over Morzine, Montriond, and the surrounding area, yet is only just over a 10 minute walk plus 150m up a hill from the town centre. There is also a free bus stop just 150m from the chalet.

Chalet Guytaune, is a 7 bedroom luxury chalet, sleeping up to 16 people. Built to a very high standard in a traditional style, the chalet provides luxurious chalet accommodation for your holiday.

As you enter the chalet, you are greeted by a spacious lounge, with a roaring log fire and huge comfy sofas. This opens out to the dining area, and essential tea & cake island! For those wishing to spend the evening in the chalet there is plenty of entertainment available from the chalets Media Centre offering a Wii, Netflix, and wireless internet access.

An ensuite bedroom with balcony completes the floor.

Upstairs, there are three ensuite bedrooms all with balconies offering stunning views, plus a very large quad bedroom. In addition to the ensuite shower rooms, there is a further separate bathroom, giving you the option to have a relaxing soak at the end of the day. All the bedrooms offer ample storage space with large fitted wardrobes.

The bedrooms all offer double or twin beds with the option of fitting in cots or smaller beds for young ones. Sumptuous cushions and throws add extra luxury & comfort to the rooms, so much so you may be tempted to spend a relaxing day in bed rather than on the mountains.

Downstairs there are two further ensuite bedrooms, and a large heated kit room.

To aid in your relaxation at the end of a hard day on the mountain the chalet also benefits from having a sauna on the lower floor and a hot-tub offer stunning views over the surrounding area.

Morzine is ideally located at the top end of the French alps. The nearest airport is Geneva in Switzerland to which most airlines fly. From Geneva the transfer time to Morzine is just an hour & a quarter. With most low-cost airlines, the earlier you book your flights, the better the deals available.
