A chance to push yourself (and your legs) to the max whilst experiencing the classic cols of the Pyrenees.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Local ride

  • Local ride into the Baronnies and test the legs on the Col de Palomieres 828m.

Day 2 - “Circle of death” - 144km + 5151m of climbing

Today’s cols:

  • Aubisque 1709m
  • Soulor 1474m
  • Tourmalet 2115m
  • Aspin 1489m
  • Finishing on the col de Peyresourde 1569m

Day 3 - Lourdes - 98km + 3750m of climbing

Today’s cols:

  • Starting with the Cote de Loucrup,
  • Col du Tourmalet 2115m
  • Finishing with the beast that is Hautacam 1520m

Day 4 - A rest day!

Day 5 ~ Saint Bertrnad de Comminges - 95km

Today’s cols:

  • Starting in Saint Bertrand de Comminges
  • Tackle the Port de Bales 1755m
  • Col du Peyresourde 1569m
  • Col du Azet 1580m
  • Finish at Pla d’Adet 1680m.

Day 6 - Thuy - 137km + 2629m of climbing

Today’s cols:

  • Starting from base at Thuy, do the loop round up the Col d’Aspin 1489m and descent down to Arreau and then finally tackle the Hourquette d’Ancizan 1539m.
  • We can make this a shorter day if needed just climbing the Aspin or the Hourquette.

Day 7 - Depart

  • If your legs can manage the stairs onto the plane!

Bike hire is available from 100€ per week, including locks and emergency repair kit.

The centre has been created from a traditional French farmhouse and barns, with many original timbers and local stonework. A total of 18 guests can be accommodated in three separate gites.

Each house has its own private facilities and outside seating area, but there is also a communal outdoor shaded barbeque area with a large table big enough to sit 18 and the dining room in the Aubisque is large enough to provide for groups who wish to eat together.

We aim to provide the perfect set up for either a couple or family wanting a relaxing holiday to a large club group on a cycling holiday in the Pyrenees. We don’t live on site but are close enough should you need our help or advice during your stay.

The grounds have been landscaped to enable visitors to enjoy the views, with secluded or communal seating areas, a herb garden, shrubs and trees.

There is parking for up to six cars.

A certain amount of logs are provided in the rental price. A small charge will be made for extra logs. Timed heating is included in the price.

Our properties are named after three of the local mountain cols, Tourmalet (sleeps 6), Aspin(sleeps 4) and Aubisque sleeping 7-8.

Cots and Highchairs are available.

No Pets allowed during busy summer months, please ask for other times of the year.

All linen and towels are provided.

Swimming pool

The large (12m x 6m) pool, provides luxury entertainment and training facilities to meet the range of our guests’ requirements. The pool conforms to the latest stringent French safety standards.

Overlooking the adjoining fields, with fantastic views of the Pyrenees, we have a large, fenced sun terrace with sun-loungers and chairs.

A feature of the pool is an adjustable high performance Fastlane jetstream Endless Pool, which allows you to swim hard into a smooth, turbulence free current of water without the hassle of lots of turns.

Information area

A communal facility with tourist information, weather forecasts, local attractions etc. Boules, board games, books, magazines and painting equipment are available for loan during your stay.

Bike maintenance shed

  • Secure storage racks for up to 18 bikes
  • Stands for working on bikes
  • Ergo machine
  • A range of tools can be available for your use
