The week kicks off with a stunning ‘local’ loop taking in the Col de la Morte and Col D’Ornon, 105km. The Col de la morte 1368m starts with a lovely shady climb, which on a hot day is a relief! It then finishes on some impressive switch-backs up to the ski resort of Alpe du grande serre. From here we ride over to the Col D’Ornon 1360m which is a fairly gentle climb and descent all the way back to the chalet.

The Col d’Izoard (2361m) has unique rock formations, including the spectacular casse deserte which you pass on the descent to the beautiful town of Guillestre. This famous col has featured in the tour de France many times and is categorised as one of the ‘hors categorie’ climbs, there is even a small cycle museum at the top if you fancy a rest stop.

You could head up towards St Christophe or further to La Berade (1780m), going past the lovely town of Venosc and up this quiet and stunning route.

Cycle the infamous route of the Marmotte sportif of 174km, riding over the Col du Glandon, Col du Telegraphe, Col du Galibier and then finishing on the world renowned 21 hairpins of Alp D’Huez, with support the whole way and plenty of pit stops to keep you well fuelled. Bonne journée and Bon courage!
