For evening meal, clients can eat out in the many reasonably priced restaurants in Orgiva or self cater.

We aim to be flexible regarding start and finish day in order to allow you to find the best flights.

Typical seven day road biking programme

A weeks programme of routes will be created, and detailed route advice and profiles will be supplied, along with transfers and refreshments supplied. Typical routes will be 50 to 100km with hills of various categories, routes will take 4 to 6 hours. We also offer full vehicle support if required and workshop facilities. On certain routes we are happy to accompany you.

Day 1 (Warm up day)

  • Transfer from Granada or Málaga airport to Órgiva. Introduction and short warm up ride.

Day 2 Órgiva to Beznar (80km)

  • Briefing and circular excursion from Órgiva to Beznar and Las Guajares. 4-5 hours biking.

Day 3 Alhama Granada (80km)

  • Vehicle transfer to Alhama Granada circular route of 80km, 4-5 hours biking return vehicle transfer.

Day 4 Órgiva to Trevelez (70km)

  • Circular excursion from Órgiva to Trevelez (Spain´s highest village at 1800m) 70km, 4-5 hours biking.

Day 5 Órgiva to Sierra Contraviesa (70km)

  • Circular excursion from Órgiva to Sierra Contraviesa at 1300m, Cadiar, Torviscon, Orgiva 70km, 4-5 hours biking.

Day 6 Rest day

  • Day off to relax – Market day in Órgiva.

Day 7 Órgiva to Hazo de Linea (80km)

  • Circular excursion from Órgiva, Velez Benaudalla, Motril, Castell del Ferro, Hazo de Linea, Orgiva 80 km, 2000m of climbing, 5-6 hours biking.

Day 8 Departure

  • Pack up bikes, exchange e mails with new found friends and transfer from Órgiva to Granada or Malaga Airport.

Accommodation

The accommodation on the edge of Orgiva, is based on 2 rustic cortijos (cottages) property 1: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4 property 2: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 6 set in 2 acres of grounds, with swimming pool, in a quiet area on the edge of Orgiva. Each property has its own kitchen, bathrooms and living/dining area. There is free broadband WIFI internet available for our clients.

The swimming pool is available between mid-April and mid-October.

Location

Órgiva is a town municipality in the Alpujarra mountains in the province of Granada, Andalucia. It has a population of around 6,000 and lies in the Alpujarra valley between the Sierra de Lujar and Sierra Nevada. In recent years it has become a popular tourist destination for those visiting the Alpujarras, and the town is often described as “the gateway” to this area. A large market is held on Thursdays.
