10-Day Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 Warm up Day

  • Everyone will be arriving at the chalet, collecting their bikes, just overall acclimatizing, relaxing, and exploring the new terrain.

Day 2 Col de Petit St. Bernard

  • Today will be the Col de Petit St Bernard where the cyclists will have the chance to experience the first Col of the trip.

Day 3 Col de La Madeleine

  • Cycle the famous Col de La Madeleine finishing in La Chambre

Day 4 Lake Annecy (40km)

  • The 40km 2009 time trial route round the beautiful Lake Annecy. Swim and relax by the lake, take a tandem paraglide flight or cycle the Col de Forclaz or Semnoz for a bird’s eye view of the area. (This would be a good day for non cyclists to join you)

Day 5 Col d’Iseran

  • The Col d’Iseran, which is the highest paved mountain pass in Europe, can be reached directly from the chalet climbing from 800m in Bourg St Maurice to 2764 at the top of the Col. Starting in Val D’Isere this is a less challenging ride but the views are spectacular.

Day 6 Rest day

  • Sight seeing day. Visit Chamonix and take the cable car to the Aguille du Midi with spectacular views from 3842m, or take a gentle stroll from the chalet in the Vanoise National Park.

Day 7 Cormet de Roselend

  • Cycle from the chalet over the Cormet de Roselend and either picnic by the lake or continue on to the Col de Pré and the Beaufort valley.

Day 8 Col de Galibier

  • The Col de Galibier from St Michel de Maurienne via the Col de Telegraph is one of the iconic climbs in the Tour De France, as well as being one of the highest and most spectacular.

Day 9 Bourg Saint Maurice to Les Arcs

  • Les Arcs, La Plagne. Both these resorts have featured recently in the Tour as mountain finishes. Either climb one or both with a flat ride beside the River Isere in between or jump on the funicular from Bourg Saint Maurice to Les Arcs 1600.

Day 10 Col de Croix de Fer

  • Either cycle up the Col de Croix de Fer and down the Col de Glandon or the other way round depending on how energetic you are feeling. Alternatively take a local ride in the Tarentaise valley.


Chalet Myrtilles is a traditional 300 year old building that has been carefully restored to provide modern comforts while retaining its character.

The boot room and bedroom 1 are on the ground floor. The chalet is split level and on the next level are two more bedrooms with a further two on the next level. The final level has the kitchen and large living area with a log fire and a south facing balcony with mountain views.

Three of the bedrooms are completely en suite with shower, wash basin and wc. The other two rooms have their ow bathrooms with shower and wash basin and a shared wc.

Adjacent to the chalet and accessed via the boot room is a sauna room.


Quiet location in an authentic Alpine village in the Vanoise National Park. with great access to some famous cols.

Chalet Myrtilles is ideally situated for cycling some of the famous Alpine stages of the Tour De France and Dauphine De Libere, including:

  • Col de La Madeleine
  • Mountain stage finish Arc 1800
  • Col de Petit Saint Bernard
  • Mountain stage finish La Plagne
  • Cormet de Roselend
  • Col D’Iseran (the highest paved mountain pass in Europe)

A short drive from the chalet is the stunning Lake Annecy where you can simply cycle round the lake or climb:
