This great event started in 1987 and these days more than 8500 cyclist joining the number one Gran Fondo in Italy. The Maratona dles Dolomites is a “must do” event and a once in your life time experience for every cyclist! A fantastic 11 days cycling trip to the Dolomites with a guaranteed entry to the Maratona dles Dolomites Gran Fondo 2016. This wonderful Tour includes the famous Granfondo “Maratona dles Dolomites” Granfondo/Sportive race and a week’s training around the classic Dolomites passes. You will climb Passo Gardena, Passo Sella, Passo Falzarego, Passo Valparola, Passo Campolongo, Passo Pordoi, Passo Giau or Tre Cime di Lavaredo! The tour will be closed as soon when reaching 8 people! You will stay in B&B Dolomiti in La Villa. This traditional B & B house offers the standards of a 3-star hotel and is rated as 9.1 on booking.com. You will also have the chance to take part of the “Sella Ronda” bike day” one week before the Maratona dles Dolomites The mighty Dolomites in North Italy are perfectly located in the northeast corner of Italy near Switzerland and Austria. Dolomiti B&B is located in La Villa, a 5-minute walk from the Gran Risa ski slopes. This traditional mountain guest house offers the standards of a 3-star hotel. Overlooking the Dolomites, the rooms feature unique styles and décor. The restaurant serves a traditional Trentino cuisine. Guests can relax in the common lounge, which features a fireplace. There is a free Wi-Fi internet point.

Day 1 Saturday 25 June

Pick up at Milan Malpensa Airport (before 12 noon!) to your B & B in La Villa. This beautiful B & B will be your basement for the upcoming tour. Evening at leisure

Day 2 Sunday 26 June

The Dolomites are waiting for you! Today you will ride the “Sellaronda course”: the “Sella Ronda bike day” (62 km - 1.780 m. difference in height) which includes Passo Campolongo (5.8 km and 6.1% avg), Passo Pordoi (9.2 km and 6.9% avg), Passo Sella (5.5 km and 7.9 avg), Passo Gardena (5.8 km and 4,3%). Hotel in La Villa. Cycling distance 62 km- 1780 meters of climbing. Evening at leisure

Day 3 Monday 27 June

After Breakfast. You will ride to Cortina and climb the Passo Tre Croci and optional Tre Cime di Lavaredo (one of the toughest climb in Italy after Monte Zoncolan and Passo del Mortirolo!) Cycling distance 110 km with 2.600 meters of climbing. Evening at leisure

Day 4 Tuesday 28 June

First breakfast. You will ride a wonderful climb to Passo di Fedaia (2057m) and cycle through the spectacular gorge “Serrai di Sottoguda” with views of Marmolda (3342m) directly above, with the last glacier in the Dolomites. Cycling distance 105km - Route elevation 2.400 m. Evening at leisure

Day 5 Wednesday 29 June

Breakfast. Today on our program the climbs to Passo Campolongo and Passo Giau. The Campolongo Pass is the first of the seven Dolomites Mountain passes that cyclist will tackle during the Maratona dles Dolomites Gran Fondo. The pass is the only one of the seven to be ascended twice. The Passo Giau is 10.12 km long, with its highest point at 2236 m and a total of 10.12 km climbing. The average climbing on this Passo Giau is 9.1%.Cycling distance 85km - Route elevation 2.400 m. Evening at leisure

Day 6 Thursday 30 June

Breakfast. Today will be an easy day with more Dolomite Passes to ride (depending on the length of your Sunday’s race); it’s possible to cycle the loop ride over Passo Valparola, Passo Falzarego and Passo Campolongo. Total km: 54 - Route elevation 1.350 m. Evening at leisure

Day 7 Friday 1 July

Breakfast and some other rides can be made in the mighty Dolomites. Evening at leisure.

Day 8 Saturday 2 July

Breakfast, day & evening at leisure and number pick-up at Marathon Expo. Evening at leisure.

Day 9 Sunday 3 July

The Maratona dles Dolomites is a “must do” event and a once in your life time experience for every cyclist! The great success of the Maratona dles Dolomites is based on the excellent organisation and the beautiful region of the Dolomites. The whole ambience of the event is outstanding.

You can choose the following options:

  • The Maratona Course 138km with 4230 challenging climbing meters
  • The middle Maratona Course 106km with 3130 challenging climbing meters
  • The Sella Ronda Course with 1780 challenging climbing meters

Day 10 Monday 4 July

After yesterday’s Gran Fondo Maratona dles Dolomites it’s time to relax. Morning free in La Villa and in the afternoon transfer back to Lake Como. Arrival in Cernobbio on the shores of Lake Como and check into our Hotel Terzocrotto. Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 11 Tuesday 5 July

It’s time to say goodbye, a good flight back home or else a pleasant stay in Italy. Transfers to the Airport Milan Malpensa will be made by the Tour guide.
