With over 5000m of climbing over some of the great Tour classics and a finish up the 21 bends of Alpe D’Huez, La Marmotte represents a unique challenge among French sportives.

The Marmotte is traditionally run over 174km and considered the ‘Benchmark’ sportive by most riders. In 2016 it is planned to revert to the traditional course of the Glandon, Telegraph, the mighty Galibier and Alpe D’ Huez.

For 2016 Velocamps (Official Tour Operator) are offering a catered chalet package based on 3 excellent chalets in Old Alpe D’Huez village and transfer from Geneva airport with its multiple flight options. Marmotte entries sell out every year so register with us as early as possible.

Marmotte private transfers with bikes will be on both the Tuesday and Thursday evenings from Geneva, with registration on the Friday between 19.00 and 22.00. The sportive is on Saturday.

We will also offer a return bike transfer service for bikes from London to ADH for £120.00/bike for those who want to travel hand luggage only, booked in advance through our partners.

We also organise a traditional celebratory dinner at a good quality local restaurant after the event on Saturday evening at no extra cost.

There is also an optional time trial up the Alpe on the Sunday morning for those with any legs left! Return transfers will be on the Sunday afternoon, after lunch, to Geneva.

We are a small company that takes a personal approach with smaller groups.

The private food stop is 4km from the Galibier summit , to help you avoid the usual scrum for nutrition, with shaded seating/cooling towels and gels, biscuits, bagettes, bananas and fruitcake, flat coke/sodas, cold water, bidon swaps etc. and any mechanical assistance required.

We will now be collecting twice from Geneva Airport on Thursday June 30th , with our private minibuses meeting the following flights:

Easyjet Gatwick – flights arriving between 21.00 and 22.30. ( TBC)

Swissair/BA- Flights from 19.30-20.00.

If you are using other flights to Geneva please ensure they arrive before 22:30

We will be transferring back to Geneva for the following flights

on Sunday July 3rd.

Easyjet: Geneva – Gatwick departures from 17.00 .

Swissair/BA Geneva – Heathrow departures from 17.00.

If you are using other flights from Geneva please ensure they do not depart before 17.00.

Bbased on 3 nights accommodation in our high quality catered chalets in the heart of Alp d’Huez overlooking the summit of the finishing climb, just as you enter the village. It is probably the liveliest place to watch the end of the sportive with a convivial atmosphere, cheering your mates home with a cold beer from our ‘ringside’ balconies, opposite the famous ‘O bar’. We also get early start numbers for the first booked clients who also have the option of riding the Vaujany sportive the weekend before, with the remainder starting mid-bunch.

The Marmotte is traditionally run over 174km and considered the ‘Benchmark’ sportive by most riders.
