Location

This is the cycling mecca of France and Alpe d’Huez’s famous mountain cols are on your doorstep from the chalet, such as like the Col de Ornon or the Col du Sabot.

Situated in one of the oldest hamlets of Oz en Oisans, Le Bessey, Chalet Lingayoni has an eagle’s view of the Belledone Valley and within walking distance of a beautiful pine forest.

The surroundings of the chalet guarantee numerous routes and day trips. Do you feel like a light cycle or a huge cycling ascent? It’s all possible here.

You might want to try the Col d’Ornon (1367 m). A beautiful climb, which isn’t too strenuous. When this first ascent feels like trying out another climb. Cycle along the reservoir of Allemont and follow the signs Villard Reculas to start a wonderful climb of the notorious ‘Dutch’ mountain. Ride via the authentic mountain village of Villard Reculas you cycle along the deep abysses with stunning views of the Le Bourg d’Oisans valley.

You could also try the more unknown Col Luitel (1262 m). From Rochetaillée cycle down the N85 towards Grenoble, which is a great warm up. At Séchilienne, take the right towards Chamrousse par Col Luitel. With grade changes of 10, 11 percent it’s seemingly unending but you will be rewarded with a beautiful descent on the Col de Chamrousse. Keep left at Uriage les Bains and treat yourself to a nice cold drink on one of the terraces!
