Chalet Hay is is located on the Col du Tourmalet, perfect for cycling and ski holidays in the Pyrenees. Road cycling routes include the famous Tour de France con-core the Col du Tourmalet climb only 10 mins from the house. The Chalet is approx 3 km from the Tour start in St Marie de Campan and a few miles from the Col du Aspin, another route of the Tour De France.

Road cycling is a big attraction here in the Pyrenees. There are endless routes for all abilities. Many cyclists visit each year to conquer the Cols, 12 of which have been in past tours, especially the famous “Tour De France” Col du Tourmalet. There are of course many routes that are considerably less strenuous (!) especially in the Barronies, the foot hills of this area of the Pyrenees.

The Chalet has room for bike storage and is positioned well for day trips to other ski / cycling areas for instance, Luz Ardiden, Cauterets and Hautacam. To accommodate cyclists we are happy to offer shorter weekend breaks or training breaks out of peak season. Get in touch for a quote.

Our rates are for full exclusive use of the chalet and south facing garden, for a maximum of 8 people sharing the 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin room. The price includes bed linen, all water, heating and electricity costs (watch out as some chalets charge extra), and some wood for the log burner.

We also provide, dishwasher and washing machine powder, washing up liquid, T-towels, hand soap and some toilet roll for your convenience.

We are a family friendly chalet and have 2 high chairs, stair gates, a cot bed, a selection of toys and plates, dishes, cutlery etc. for meal times. These can be set out when requested at no extra cost.

Chalet Hay was originally built in the mid 1600s and until 30 years ago its main use was a Bergerie or sheep shed!

The Bergerie was converted into its current use as a holiday home in 1978. We fell in love with the Bergerie in February 2007 and enjoyed further modernising it. Original features from the buildings former use are still very present, for example the original beams, the various rocks poking through the walls and the ladder which separates the dining area from the bar area. When the previous owners converted the Bergerie they also found paintings by shepherds on the walls upstairs, copies of which we are hoping to obtain.
