Service

If you are a cycling club looking for some warm weather and high col training, or a group of cycling enthusiasts wanting a taste of the Tour de France, this trip is a perfect option.

Beautiful alpine scenery and the opportunity to taste some of the other activities and adventures the Alps has to offer.

During this trip, we offer three vehicle supported rides which include a vehicle and driver at your disposition during the day for emergency repairs, food stops at the top of cols and along the way and of course the possibility of being picked up if your legs turn to lead!

We will discuss the various cycling options with you when you book and tailor make an itinerary based on your abilities and ambitions!

As we are multi activity specialists and this area has a lot to offer, we have also included 5 activity points with this package that you can use them to exchange for a range of activities.

Cool off your aching legs canyoning, test out your head for heights on a via ferrata, go rafting or revisit your childhood tree climbing.

We will ask you to choose your activities at the time of booking and put together an itinerary around your rides including time for local self-guided road routes so you can make the most of your time here.

Although it is amazing to be a spectator at the Tour it isn’t the best time to come cycling for yourself as the roads are busy with tourists. The best time to cycle in the region is May - July and September – October. This is when the cols are more traffic free, it’s warm but not baking and the light on the mountains is beautiful.

Accommodation

Donald and Agnes will give you a truly warm welcome to the valley in this lovely village bed and breakfast at the entrance to the Ecrins National Park. It’s situated on the edge of the medieval village of St Bonnet, which is a great central location for all activities. The accommodation is superb, with a large sociable dining table for dinner and breakfast, comfy areas including the all important wood burner for those cold winter nights, a games table for chess or cards and for summer holiday makers, the downstairs rooms all have their own deckchairs and tables for relaxing and sunbathing in front of magnificent views. Outside are extensive grounds with a very impressive vegetable garden and orchard, a sun terrace, swings and bowling surrounded by mountain views. There are 5 bed and breakfast rooms, some double and some family rooms, all decorated in a contemporary style with modern ensuite bathrooms. On the top floor there is also an independent studio apartment. Donald and Agnes also provide evening meals - three courses with wine and are happy to cook anything you fancy so just let them know. In the summer there are a full range of activities in the vicinity and you are just 5 mins from the swimming lake.
